7/7/2023 Daily Diary from Atwater Camp
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform, and Made a cup of coffee. Watched the local news and weather channel, high today will be 93 deg F. Stretched while watching the news and drinking my coffee. Dropped a few loads of dirty mops and rags to start the wash for today at 5:45 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:05 AM. Breakfast menu: oatmeal, roll, apple, and hot water.
Plan for today:

  1. Walk 6 miles.
  2. Laundry duties.
  3. Call Doris.
  4. Email Daily Diary 7/6/2023.
  5. ACE class Indian Nation at 4:00 PM.
  6. Stretch.

Started walking at 6:50 AM. Completed 6 miles at 8:20 AM. Finished washing mops and rags at 8:30 AM. Started hemming pants until 10:10 AM. Talked to Doris at 10:15 AM: She sounded good, seems like her asthma is under control with the nebulizer. Told her about my hemming and sewing duties, and she laughed that it is a job she did not expect I will be doing. She told me that the sprinkler was leaking and she closed the valve with a Blue stem to shut off the water, she has to water the plants by hand. I told her to locate the valve and fix it, Probably talk to Quang to fix the sprinkler. No news on the visitation pass yet. Got a haircut from Armando at 1:30 PM. Chad installed a new shelf in the laundry room to organize the blankets, sheets, supplies, and miscellaneous stuff. Back to the unit at 2:00 PM to email daily diary 7/6/2023 to Prison Professor, Michael and Doris. Headcount at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the head count. Dinner menu: Shredded chicken, carrots, paste, hotdog bun, and punch. 4:00 PM ACE Class – Indian Nation. Finished emailing Daily Diary at 5:30 PM. Went to the library to read at 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM. Headcount at 7:10 PM. Signed up for the ADE class How Your Body Functions on 7/17/2023 and Physiology and Fitness on 7/16/2023. These classes are 9 weeks courses. Headcount at 8:30 PM. Final headcount at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Good Day: Doris is well. Walked 6 Miles. Had my hair cut.
Nelson Mandela – It is a long walk to Freedom. Walked 6 miles today and completed 113 miles since I got to camp.
