The morning started out bright, clear, calm and cool. The sun was rising over the Sierras and the analogous colors were radiating out from the sun: red, orange, yellow, light blue and blue sky. The rabbits were out grazing at the soccer and baseball fields. As the morning progressed, the sun brightened the sky and warmer the air. The squirrels appeared after breakfast, they were running around the camp begging for food from the inmates. Walked 5 miles and jogged the final mile. Completed 6 miles walk at 7:40 AM, in 1 hour 11 minutes and 18 seconds. Average walking times were: 11 minutes 53 seconds per mile or 1 minutes and 59 seconds per lap. The pace was fast as I sweated and I had to walk a few laps to cool down and catch my breath. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga at the basketball court until 8:25 AM. The Yoga practice was refreshing. Attending Beginning Spanish class from 8:30-9:30 AM. The theme for today were construction terminology and daily living at the camp. Checked email form Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8063 steps, 17.2 inches step length and symmetry was 78%. Yesterday was the 152nd consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She and Karlee will be visiting today: Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:40 AM. Called Doris ay 9:50 AM: Doris was on their way and should be arriving in about 20 minutes. Census count at 10:00 AM. Lunch was served after the count. Luncheon menu: Scrambled eggs, pancake with syrup, an apple, milk, sugar and water. Went to the visitation room after the lunch and Doris was already there. Doris is well but looks tired. Th vending machines at the visitation room were down, I was able to get a bag of chips and two Hershey chocolate bars. The CO Abdii allowed me to get some soft drinks form the dormitory. I got two cans of Sunkist from Happy. Doris was able to contract out the yard work and roof leak to Eric. He dis a good job. Doris will try to call DOJ about the restitution next wee. Doris and Francis will bring Bobo to the veterinarian on 7/5/2024. Bobo is able 15 years old, but she is still healthy and running around the backyard. Karlee and Chris arrived at the visitation room at 12:30 PM. The Co allowed them to but some soft drinks and snacks to the visitation room from outside because the vending machines were not working. Karlee and Chris bought: 2 coca colas and a bag of chips for Rodrigo Santos, Dr pepper and energy fruit juices , chips, chocolate to celebrate father’s day. I told Karlee that I have not received her gift. I told them we were being recognized for out work with the GED program and someone from Washington DC is coming to look at our program. They were proud of our accomplishments, also Atwater receive $11k for each inmate that passed the GED. I told them my half way house date is 12/2/2024 but will meet with case manager Mr Larsen in August to finalize my date, hopefully he will recommend some home confinement time because of our GED accomplishments, we can only hope. I told them the half way house location can be in either San Francisco or Oakland, it is up to them to assign the location. Because i am retired, they will not require me to look for employment but volunteering near Pinole could expedite my release to home confinement. Karlee, Chris, and Chris’s mon had a bout with Covid that’s why they were not able to visit last week. I am glad they are feeling better. Chris and Karlee will check my retirement brokerage accounts balances when they drop by the house. Chris knows what I need. I will call them at home to provide final instructions. They left the visitation room at 2:45 PM. It was a good visitation and CO Abdii was accommodating since the vending machines were down, thank you. Census count at 3:30 PM. dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Salisbury steak, rice, corn, bread and water. Ace class Basic Building Permits 6-6:30 PM. Census count at 7:30 PM.
