The Path of Change
How could I change my way of living,
if I don’t know where to begin?
My thoughts and actions are not my own,
if they can’t be controlled within.
The truth has never been a secret,
we all know which way we must go.
Because we don’t always do what’s right
doesn’t necessarily mean we don’t know.
Some choose to take the wrong path
and fall victim to the pitfalls of life.
The pain, the suffering, the vain repercussion
cuts deeper than the sharpest knife.
All the sacrifices made for nothing,
to lose all the things we’ve gained.
The material goods we seem to treasure,
we die and on Earth they remain.
So when it’s all said and done,
the casket is finally closed.
We shall pay the price alone,
to the foolishness of the path we chose….
