What makes you an outstanding candidate for a job, a partnership, a loan or venture capitalist to start a business?
A job, a partnership, a loan or investments for starting a business all require preparation, dedication and commitment in order to excel. These are three qualities that I have developed while incarcerated and I plan to use them when I have the opportunity. Preparation means that I’m not just applying for a position with a company, but I do extensive research prior to the interview(s) so that I walk in full of knowledge about the company, the founder, the current CEO (if not the same as the founder), the company mission and whether or not their goals align with my own. I’m not just applying for a job, per se, but a position on the company ladder so that I can turn a job into a career.
All partnerships are founded with likeminded individuals coming together to work toward a common goal, and along with extensive research and proper preparation (talking to prior successes, or experts in that field), I would bring dedication to that common goal to the table. There are some endeavors that may not bear immediate fruit, but if one remains dedicated to the mission because they believe it to be a worthy cause, or that long term success is better than instant success, then I am confident our partnership will eventually achieve excellence and we will accomplish our mission.
Any loan or budding business will require commitment to see me through the dark days when I feel overworked, or as if I don’t have enough hours in the day to accomplish everything I need. And when I can dig deep to find the fortitude to keep on going, to push through until I achieve my goal, then I will gain the reward I earned by staying committed. So the three main qualities needed for excellence in any job, any partnership and starting any business are qualities I posses.
I also posses a logical mind that is able to break larger things down into smaller components, as well as prioritizing lists of what needs to happen when so that whoever I am working with or for can be confident that their business is in safe hands. An attention to detail is essential for any employee entrusted with many responsibilities.
