As I sit in the darkest of prison and think back on the time spent by most men and women in side, I can;’t help be feel the despair and dread that they feel. I know all to well what it is to feel only and left to die behind these walls.. I have server 23 years inside federal prison and have 55 more years left to do. Or so They say, I have never excepted the sentence of 1,111 months (92 years 7 months) as fact, it is just a number that was never meant for me to survive, yet here I stand..
I am the founder of America’s Incarcerated Matters and I fight daily to educate the men that I encounter and teach them to create the brand in-self that they want the world to know and not the person that the system said they where. I have gained so much insight in to self over these past decades on understand the power of knowledge of self first and the knowledge of branding self second. In branding self I began to build a support system and build and or repair relationship with family and friends and than with folks of different walks of life inside the world of prison and learn from both the mistakes and there positive growth and upward movement in life. This has helped to prepare me for the day That I am able to walk>>>>> FREE and become the change I want to see both inside and out-side prison.
There must be BRAND BUILDING with a purpose in-order to be the person that each of us want to be. Begin to say positive things about self..If you have a nic-name that denotes a negative connotation; CHANGE IT. If other refer to you in a negative way don’t respond in-kind, respond in love. If your past is all you children know about you, start telling them about the positive things you are doing and plan to do. This is the beginning of the journey and the end only comes when you stop.
