One of the resources I think I need to recalibrate to society upon release is a lesson on technology. Being in prison for almost 18 years I do not know much about new technology. Prior to prison I loved technology and getting all the new gadgets and latest phones. When I was out I had the 1st generation iphone. Today, we are like on the 15th generation. With so many changes and updates since my incarceration, I think I will feel lost or overwhelmed when I first get out. The best way to handle this I think will be to take a training class and learn all about the new technology. This will help me be more efficient especially at my job. When we first got the tablets here I struggled a bit to find my screens and find my games. Now I am good at it. Before coming to prison I owned my own business and was a realtor. Today, when I watch TV I envision based on commercials or programs I see all the things I can possibly do with the new technology I see. I am amazed at all the possibilities! These smartphones are really advanced and I know If I take classes or watch training videos I will be able to use this technology to my advantage to network and make more money when I get out.
