Journal Entry: Amida Lourdes Tovar-10/01/2024-Preparing For Half-Way House

Journal Entry

I wish I knew about Mr. Santos, in February. The inspiring path that he has led for me has given me a hope that I did not know there could be, within me. A hope, and a guide, that I will utilize, daly. Today I found out my half-way house date. I did not do as much in this institution as I would have liked, such as in classes that I signed up for but was never put on the call-out sheet to attend. I worked the 500 hours at Unicore, until it gave me tendonidis.:( I participated in the manditory drug education class, music theroy, ASL, and I am currently participationg in the NRDAP class. That class ends around the begining of November, but I will not be able to complete that. That’s ok,though. I am going to R&D tomorrow to get the reentry i.d. The half-way house is called Corrections Alternative, in San Diego, CA. Now that I have confirmed my housing situation, I need to set up a time-line of what I need to do around the first week of reentry. Get an Obama phone/Lifeline and set up an e-mail adress. Get my DL replaced. Sign up for benefits, and medical insurance, so I can refill my presriptions. Dental: Get bottom dentures. Keep in contact with my probation officer, and contact the current social worker, that is charge of my son in foster care, so I can focus on rebuilding my relationship, not only with my son, but my new grandson as well. If any one reads this, I am asking for any and all resources that I can utilize. Please and thank you. I am 48 years young, and I don’t mind hard work.
