Journal Entry

Dear Azy, Rumi, and Ari,

Today, we’re going to jump forward in our bible stories from King David to his son, King Solomon. When Solomon became king, he prayed to God. When God came, he asked him, what do you want? Ask and I shall give it to you. He said I don’t want riches but wisdom. I want to have the knowledge to know how to live a Godly life so I can know how to best serve your people, the Israelites. God responded because you did not think about yourself but others, not only will I give you wisdom so you know how to live a Godly life, but I’ll also give you riches. In fact, you will be the richest king to have ever lived and they will talk about you for centuries to come.

So Solomon, with God’s grace, became one of the wisest man to have ever walked the earth. He wrote 3 books of the bible: proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and song of songs. Proverbs are general truths which mean they’re not promises it’s going to happen if you follow them, but generally, the results happen for most that decide to make this a part of their daily living.

Here are some of my favorite verses of wisdom from his book of proverbs categorized based on subject as well as others from other sections of the bible. I put the exact verse on the ones I knew in the bible where I had read them so you can look it up in the bible yourself:
