I’ve often thought about this question as I lay in my bunk at night. the cost to get my ideas off the ground and started is fairly cheap and once I get the momentum going most should be self-sufficient. however, in this ever-changing economy, I find it hard to put a number on onto the idea. I’m honest with myself and know I won’t be starting a real estate company or anything grand like that, it’s just not my thing. I work with my hands and most of the capital I need would go towards tools, materials, and a place of operation. tools I would estimate about 3,000 dollars on the low end. materials to start off probably run about anywhere from 5,000 to 8,000 dollars depending on the quality and what I want to start making immediately to get things rolling. I would need one place of operation with sufficient square footage to build several projects at a time and another with enough space to fit several other individuals that can move around without bumping into each other. this is where my estimation gets hazy because I don’t know much about renting buildings or warehouses so put the estimation around 800 dollars a month per building bringing the total to 16000 dollars. so all in all it’s going to cost me about 20,000 to 25,000 dollars to kick off my dreams.
If I just start with one and work out of my home property the cost can be reduced to about 10,000 dollars maybe less. I have confidence in myself that I can make it work no matter what as long as I don’t give up and even if I have to use the cheapest tools and cheapest raw materials. I just have to keep believing in myself and hopefully, the contact I have outside will be a helping hand too.
