Why I chose to read this book?
Recently, I’ve been struggling with my writing because of problems overthinking. These emotions tend to prevent me from accomplishing tasks such as memorializing my progress while incarcerated. A fellow writer suggested the book so I took it upon myself to read it. Personally, I found the book to be exactly what I needed to read in order to get back on track.
What I learned from reading the book?
After reading ” Writing Down to The Bones” I felt a sense of excitement towards my writing. The author offers simple advice that any new writer can understand. Its not always about performing perfect writing but getting use to consistenly putting in the work. Writing is just like any other skill, therefore; it takes time and effort to master. Instead of over analyzing my work I must learn to enjoy the process of writing.
Why the lessons I learned will influence higher prospects for your success upon release?
The time that I put into writing will help me increase my skills to express myself more efficiently. Learning better writing skills will influence me to be more active in memorializing my daily progress. If I can become more comfortable in the way that I write I can share with others my plans of preparing for success. Writing can be a catalyst towards my transformation. Therefore, these lessons are monumental steps toward the future I dream of having.
