Why I chose to read this book?

Brene Brown is a well known writer and her TED talks have been viewed by millions of people. I find her research on guilt and shame to be interesting because of my personal emotional struggles.

What I learned from reading the book?

After reading her book I found the relevance of living a wholehearted lifestyle. Showing compassion to others while building positive connection. Also, setting boundaries to the people who you might feel are a liability to your journey towards self healing. Learning to cultivate hope and practicing being thankful to the blessings we have in our life’s. To give up on being perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself.

How the book will contribute to my success upon release?

I’ve learned strategies to overcome adversity , surviving trauma, and dealing with stress and anxiety, having a sense of purpose, meaning, and perspective in my life allows me to develop understanding and move forward. I will continue educating myself on self healing so that I will evolve as a man and learn to love others in a wholehearted way.
