Why did I choose to read this book?
The main reason I chose to read this book is because of one main reason. But I end up learning several things from it. The main reason was because I plan to start my own owner/operator trucking company and grow it to a 3 to 5 truck fleet within 5 years of the launch date. I knew I needed a business plan to map out how I was going to do it and what kind of financial hurdles I was going to have to over come.
What did I learn from this book?
I learned several things. I was so glad I read this book because it showed me so many other things I could use the business plan for. I can use it to acquire customers to haul their freight for. I can use it to reach out to investors. It can be utilized as a plan for myself, the employees, and investors to map out what to expect from the company in 1, 3, 5 years as it grows.
It didn’t just show me the best way to write a plan but how to write different types of plans depending on who the reader is. I might write a plan a specific way to attract investors by showing how I plan to establish a cash flow. I might write it out about how my location will benefit certain customers because of where we are located. I can use the plan as a recruiting tool to seek and hire certain employees that would be very benefitable to the team. There is more to a business plan than just trying to get a bank to give you a loan or investors to invest and so on.
How will this book help me with my re-entry into society?
This will help me with my finances as for how i will create an income stream. The trucking company has been a goal of me and my wife since we realized that there was a market that we could be part of and earn from. Also there is tips and points from this book that i can apply to my release plan. It helps me lay out my goals and shows me how i can market myself as a successful candidate for early release or as an individual who is trying to earn his freedom. I can market myself as the change i want to be seen for me my family and the whole team of Prison Professors Talent.
