I am so excited to report that I am growing spiritually by reading these Christian study books. This book was one a I think 15 books that Dr. Gills has written and I am certainly loving this read.
I learned that Social Sanity has been lost in many ways because of rebellion – resulting for example, in the use of illicit drugs and their destructive influence on all levels of culture. Cities that were once safe are safe no longer. Neighborhoods and communities, once open and caring, now cower behind locked doors and barred windows. In contrast, proper submission to and compliance with sane and civil norms of behavior, required by our legal authorities, result in stable environments, strong relationships, and peace in our culture.
This book is very good and it taught me that in order for me to truly be at peace and to get the 100% benefit that Christ Jesus has for us His children is to Rest in Him.
God created the heavens and the earth and all things in the earth to include man in six (6) days. After that the Bible says that God rested on the seventh (7th) day. Did God get tired? No, that means that He was setting a model for us to follow and that we should like Him, take rest from our weekly toil and work.
I see exactly how some can get so twisted up with work and being busy and if it is not work, it is the phones, applications, gaming, television, reality television, and other things to keep you distracted and occupied so that you do not rest or relax. Staying worked up is not a good thing and not taking time to meditate on the Lord is also not a good thing either.
Time to focus on your relationship with God is very important. We all need to be in tune with our Maker and Creator according to the bible, we all need to reach out and communicate with God every single day.
This book has taught me to experience the love of God that brings true heart contentment. I have also learned to really slow down, relax, set worry and stress aside and take things one day at a time with Jesus!
I enjoyed this wonderful book, a very good read by James P Gills, M.D.
