This is a fictional book I would consider it speculative historical fiction. What I was able to take away from this book is it was mostly about kindness to others and problem-solving on a family, local and national level. There seemed to be a male-driven theme of greed and control I was left with a feeling that more time should be spent helping others and learning more about our communities. having more empathy and understanding can lead to stronger communities and better relationships all around. This was a good book I enjoyed reading it.
