I have heard of this man being quoted throughout my life and I happened to see his book in the library, so I decided to take a look. What a gem this book is!! With his sing-song writing, which put me in the mind of Bob Ross and his “happy little trees” Mr… Sagan takes you to the stars, shinning light on many major theories in such a way that the average person may feel a little more learned in this vast subject. From the Samurai Crabs of Japan to the philosophies of the greats, to the rise and fall of nations he brings the world and all of it’s curiosities together into a harmony that is altogether sublime. I believe this book, though outdates in some areas will continue to bless and enlighten people for ages to come. His last chapter of “Who speaks for Earth” is most definitely still deeply relevant today. It stirred my heart in many ways and I count it as a treasure found. The message of us being caregivers of this planet still rings true and still needs to be addressed. I for one feel very moved to make this one of my priorities, as well as a top value of mine to move towards.
