Title: The Power to Change
Author: Craig Groeschel

What I learned from reading:

In reading The Power to Change, by Craig Groeschel, I was introduced to a new concept. How we view ourselves is a reflection of who we are. Self-perception is essential to how you identify yourself. Knowing who you are is essential.

Summary: Mr.. Groeschel provides a lot of insight concerning how to discover the underlying issues behind bad habits and how to let go of the notion that motivation and willpower equip you with the power to change. He provides in-depth perspective on how habits are born, how to avoid negative triggers, and how to train instead of try. Mr. Groeschel also provided challenging, critical thinking questions to help get the reader started starting/stopping habits.

In Conclusion:

The Power to Change, by Craig Groeschel, immediately captured my attention and helped explain his formula for habit forming/breaking in a way I could relate with. You become the you the you want to be. I am reminded to value progress over perfection. Outcomes will be determined by inputs. The results of your life will be based on the decisions you make, the habits you stake, and the habits you break.

How will reading The Power to Change contribute to my preparations for success upon release:

The approach to forming/breaking habits Mr. Groeschel provides in his book has provided me with a template I can use in my daily life. I can use his advice to stop old habits associated with negative self-talk, and focus on forming new, positive habits to shape who I strive to be.
