Why I Read: I have often come across quotes by Maya Angelou that inspired me greatly.
What I Learned: MANY THINGS! I read this book in one sitting. It captivated me. It bounced from topic to topic ranging from things such as: learning to tell the truth instead of lying to prevent hurting feelings, maintaining an attitude of gratitude during challenging days, fighting for changes in our country, never forgetting where you come from, facing grief, and surviving and overcoming stigmas places on you. All these things are related not just to me, but mankind as a whole.
How Will Reading Letter To My Daughter Contribute To My Success Upon Release: It not only inspired me greatly, but also renewed my courage. It was a source of great empowerment and has given me a strong,female leader’s footsteps I can follow.
