My name is Steven Eslick I am a 35-year-old homosexual. This is my 2nd time in Federal Prison. I am currently serving time for Possession of Child Pornography. This is unfortunate for me because my this time in prison stemmed from hanging out with the wrong people when I was released the first time. My family is extremely supportive and I am in communication with them every day. During my first few years in prison (2019-2022) my time was pretty difficult. It was during the COVID-19 lockdown and I went 3 1/2 years without seeing my family. I was at FCI Big Spring during those years and I didn’t have recreation or any classes to take. I was in a dark place and felt like I had lost all motivation in life. Luckily, I had one friend at my last institution that kept me focused on the positive in life. In December of 2022, I finally left FCI Big Spring and transferred to FCI Seagoville. This was a blessing for me and my family. I was closer to my family and I was able to get enrolled in the RDAP program. I am currently in my second phase of that program and plan to graduate in January of 2024. I am an extremely musical person. I went to college at Oklahoma State University from 2006 to 2010 and majored in Vocal Music Education. I never graduated, but I use my musical abilities here in prison by teaching piano lessons to other inmates and performing in multiple bands on the compound. Music is my passion and what I do to relieve stress. Since being here at this institution, my family comes to see me at least once every quarter. I currently do not qualify for any FSA time credits, so I have not been taking any of those classes. I’ve just been focusing on all of my drug education courses at this time. When I finish RDAP, I plan on taking SOMP (Sex Offender Management Program) here on the compound before my release date. I have taken the crochet/knitting hobby craft course and spend time making little projects for my family, also. Other than that, I don’t have much else to write about. I appreciate your correspondence and look forward to more messages.
Thank you!
