Greetings!! My name is Reva Dawn Janis-Bauer, I am 50 yrs old, Native American, from Pine Ridge South Dakota, an Enrolled member of the Oglala Lakota Sioux Tribe, I am currently serving time in the FBOP for making the negative choice of being involved in a conspiracy of methamphetamine, I have served most of my time and will be going to the halfway house in Sioux Falls SD on 11/20/2023 (less then a month away). before coming to prison I had a gambling addiction, I still struggle with it even today, I sold drugs to support my gambling habit, since the 1st day of my arrest I had to lose myself, I broke myself down in ways that made me not want to live life anymore, I put myself in everyones shoes,includingever victim that could have felt the ripple effect of my behavior, I could go into depth w/everything, however, I’m not sure what needs to be shared in a profile, 2 wks before Michael Santos came to Waseca, I had thrown away a lot of Journals, I don’t know why that I had kept journals while I was incarcerated, I just did, then I got involved in “Preparing for Success” I SHOULD HAVE KEPT MY JOURNALS… I have taken and completed many classes that the BOP has to offer, just to name a few… NRDAP, RDAP, a paralegal course through Blackstone, victims impact, financial peace, money smart, foundations, i tutor, worked in the office for just over 3yrs, my hobby is beading, i used that for a source of income at times, i workout for an hr a day monday thru friday, i read leadership books, im anxious to get home to my adult children and my grandkids whom a couple of them i have not met in person yet, I plan on transferring to Sacramento CA (ASAP) in the meantime i am constantly reading the rules of the halfway house so that i dont start off on the wrong foot, I met a couple of my STG’s and those were to have all of my documents (ss card, B certificate, medical records..) and i have my resume and currently working on a cover letter and references, i pray everyday, i read scriptures every morning before i start my morning, it sets the tone for me, other then that i want what you have to offer and im willing to do the foot work and i am determined to succeed, Thank You for all the work that you are doing to help incarcerated people, this has given me so much hope, Truly, Reva Bauer
