My name is Krystle Owen, 37 born in Tulsa, Oklahoma but raised in Springdale, Arkansas. I am a firm believer in the Lord Jesus Christ with steadfast faith. I am a overcomer. Before prison, I was active in my addiction, now I live in sobriety. I am here to share my testimony, to help others, give them hope, and guide them in the right direction. One thing I can say now is my past does not define me.
During life, you go through times and seasons, to learn and gain knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. Which all leads to building character and finding your purpose in life. Learn from your mistakes and embrace the changes that come. Take every situation and allow it to be used for the good.
During the time I am in prison. 11 and half year sentence, I am using to become a better person, gain knowledge, wisdom, and accept change. I am currently in the Life Connections Program which is an 18 month program that is faith base. From boundaries, Faith Specific, forgiveness, anger, grief, and preparing for a better journey, to mentoring and learning how to change from our old ways. There are so many positive things offer to us in prison. Drug Education, ServSafe Food Handlers, discipleship class, fitness classes, and hobby craft classes. Learning how to better my mind, soul, and body. To become a better person, mother, friend, employee, and mentor. Everyday I gain something to help me in my future. Second chances are given in life, you just have to be determine to do the work to change.
Anyone can change in life but it always starts with you. Be the change you want to see in the world. Love others just like God loves us and always be kind to others. Don’t ever waste the time given because you can’t ever get time back. Make the best out of nothing.
