My Name is Kelly Smith (10414-089). I came across Michael Santos nd Prison Professors while sitting in the Lehigh County Jail after my change of plea hearing. The Lehigh County Jail provides tablets to those incarcerated there. On the tablet in the “Free” section under “Education” was the Edovo App so I started using my time wisely and completed the following courses as well as viewing and reading other materials. I had the tablet from 12 Dec 2023 till 2 Feb 2024.

All the dates are completed dates. I also took other courses during the time period. Had over 100 plus hours, hundreds of various videos and I’m awaiting my transcripts.
On 2 Feb 2024, they returned me back to FDC for unknown reasons, since I have to return to Allentown, PA for sentencing on 19 Mar 2024. I hope it will be an up and back trip.
This is my 2nd time with the BOP, I was sentenced in 2010 to 5 years and 10 years supervised release. I completed 6 of the 10 years of supervised release before my new charges. I’ll have a violation hearing TBD when I return to the FDC. Then I’ll play the waiting game to hear from Grand Prairie, TX for my security level and prison assignment, I’ll most likely lose my email when I return from Allentown, PA since everyone else that has returned from there has lost theirs. Once I get to my assigned prison I’ll be able to get it restored and work on my future better than what we can here at FDC.

So a little more about me, like I stated I’m 63, married for 16 years. I’m retired from the US Army with 24 years in 2005. Traveled the world with the Army. I have an AA degree plus 30 credit hours with the University of Maryland. After the Army I worked for various merchandising companies in all positions and in 2017 opened my own merchandising company with my wife, called K-Team Merchandising Solutions, LLC In 2022 my wife put the company in an active status, because of some medical conditions she was having at the time. So depending on my release date and my health will depend on my working status. If I do my complete time I’ll be 7, I’ll either reactivate K-Team or I’ll start a consulting company in the management field or prison reforms. I have a strong background in leadership and as an instructor from the Army, and management skills from my merchandising work or my company as well as others. During my time in prison, I hope I can be an asset to Prison Professors and help more when I’m released.
