I Am from Euless Texas, Born and raised in the very center of Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, also known as the Mid Cities area I have five adult children four with my first wife and one with my second who is about to turn 18. I grew up in a single-parent home with one younger sister. Never meeting my father or having any male assistance in my childhood did create certain circumstances that some say can create a doorway to a misfortunate lifestyle. I like to refer to them as circumstances not reasons because although they may have had some influence in my life, I am the one who made the wrong choices, nobody made them for me. Around the age of 27, I had fell on hard times and started using methamphetamine, yes in part to numb the reality of life around me, but at the same time to attract something new. I was soon overcome with addiction and resulted to selling small quantities to support my habit as well as the people around me. I was arrested for small amounts of drugs and ended up serving 2 years of a 5 yr sentence and shortly after 11 months of a 2 yr sentence. During my time incarcerated, I was never offered the rehabilitation that is needed to combat the mental side of addiction, yes I went without but that simply does not cut it. I was arrested in possession of approximately 224 grams of meth in 2014 and had a criminal history category of 4, this is not a high category yet I received a 360-month sentence. I have 8.5 yrs in now and I have made exemplary efforts in rehabilitation and education to assure a successful reentry to the community.
I am a completely nonviolent drug offender with a criminal history of small quantity possession charges. I dropped out of the 9th grade and started working at a young age. I did not receive my G.E.D. until I went to the Texas Dept. of Corrections through the Windham School District. During this period of incarceration, I intend to take a different approach to reassuring my success upon release.
