My name is Erica Michelle Pallanes. This is my first journal entry, so I will just provide a brief summary about who I am, and where I am now in my life journey.
I am 39 years old. My b-day is 5-31-85. I live in the Permian Basin County in Texas. I love to read and learn! Although it is difficult to obtain educational material in my current situation, I make it a point to reach out to as many organizations as I can to continue to better myself in as many ways as possible.
I am here for Violation of my probation from a previous charge. When I was last released I was not prepared. I had no coping skills, relapse prevention plan, positive network of people, or solid release plan. My previous stay, no one provided me with any of this information and I was not emotionally prepared to successfully re-enter society. This led to a series of bad choices and a new possession charge. I am currently serving a 12 year sentence at the FCI Aliceville in Al.
This saved my life. Not only have I been clean since 4-29-19. I have started to build a positive network of outside resources that will benefit my upon my release. I have learned numerous coping skills to help with my recovery. Most importantly, I am seeking out employment and transitional living programs to ensure everything is in place before I go to the half way house.
I am grateful to participate in this opportunity provided by Michael Santos and hope to write several entries showing my determination to be able to provide positive attributes to the Permian Basin county community.
