What brought me to prison was a fingerprint on a “plastic bag” located in a storage facility in South Florida. I was offered 17 years to plead guilty but a life sentence if I went to trial. I went to trial and NO ONE testified that I ever sold, purchased, or possessed drugs or used drugs. Because of the fingerprint I should have called the police and reported the individuals that came to my office with a satchel of kilos of crack cocaine, according to the prosecution.
I was in the drug business prior to 1986 but was out and started my own business and married extremely well to a New York girl that lived on a trust fund her whole life. [We lived in her house in Palm Beach, which had a property tax value of over 5 million in 1994. There were no mortgage payments since it was paid by the trust. There was no need to be in the drug business with the financial resources that were available.] The individuals who came to my office were from New York and I knew them from the earlier 80s. They stayed in the lifestyle and I was out.
I have taken steps the entire time I have been in the BOP by taking more than 100 BOP programs, obtained a 2-year degree from Blackstone Para Legal School, I am an Ordained Minister, with several additional years of study in the same field with certificates of Masters and Doctor degree in the field, taken numerous other programs from various groups over the years on my own for general knowledge. [I am not a religious person only interested in the knowledge of such.]
I have litigated for years in court for release and with the First Step Act and Fair Sentencing Act, I should be released someday. I like to learn and appreciate learning. I am also 70 years old and in very good health for my age: I might be too old for your program I’ll understand.
Cordially,
