My name is Bobby Suggs & I was sentenced to LIFE imprisonment for the crime of Conspiracy to sell 50g or more of crack. Twenty-one years later and after the passage of the First Step Act it was reduced to 480 months (40 years). I am a nonviolent first-time drug offender w/only two prior misdemeanors for Disorderly Conduct. I have one daughter(Jasmine) and one grandson(Major) whom I cherish dearly. During these 22 years of incarceration, I’ve completed numerous programs & classes. I’ve held jobs that required the highest standards of trustworthiness such as Cook in the officer’s kitchen and commissary. I’ve also volunteered for multiple years as a Suicide Companion which helped the institution save thousands of dollars while aiding in the saving of the life on watch. Currently, I am at USP Thomson continuing to program and be a model inmate until the day that I’m able to be with family and friends once again.
