My name is Carline Bolding and I am an addict. My sobriety date is September 11,2019. Which happens to be the exact same date that the federal government came kicking in my door. I like to think that the feds kicked in the door to my past, which opened up new doors to my future. The feds gave me my sobriety, even though the intervention was forced originally, it still changed the person who I was and how I behaved. With a sober mind and a desire to learn better so that I could do better, I contacted the local community college. At the age of 50, I registered and enrolled in classes for the first time in my life. With the world as we knew it shutting down due to COVID-19, I was working on blazing a new path and direction for my life. I decided that I wanted to go to school to become a substance abuse counselor, because substance abuse was something that I knew alot about. Even with the uncertainty looming for when I had to go to prison and for how long I would have to remain incarcerated for, I started college. The first two years of college, I rocked it. I was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society after my first semester. FYI……being inducted was so much better than being indicted..lol
