I chose to read this book because I seen somewhere that anything you do in life is your stage and you have to tell a good story. For instance when I was selling Solar Panels the front door or kitchen table were my stage and I needed to have the right words for people to listen and make the right decisions. In the recovery community and the recovery home I had to be good at speaking and telling stories to influence my peers. When doing reentry work I needed to speak powerful stories to keep stakeholders sometimes with cynical views) with an open minded and understanding approach to the issues we face and they face.
* I chose to read the book becasue the title cover was self explanatory– Win hearts, CHange Minds, Get Results. ONe of our most powerful tools is communication.
* I learned about story sstructure, what makes stories powerful, how to determine an audience, what challenges to overcome and resultions for them.
*How this book will contribute to my success-
I was already in the process of turning my life into a stroy and now I have questions and criteria to go by such as
WHat sets you apart
What drives you
what do you stand for
What value do you offer
How are you making a difference
THis is criteria and standards I will now ask myself and use to evaluate my life and decisions!
