While pending any court date, I always kept a lookout for anything I could consume to assist me along the journey of understanding more about the justice system. This time it was my wife whos assisted me with finding the golden nugget book by JP, “LESSONS FROM PRISON “. At first I was hesitant to read some sad story about a former prison journey. Two key things attracted me – the title, “Lessons” was huge for me to learn about the lessons another had extracted. Secondly, I recognized the name from a lesson from Michael Santos from the tablet course I recently took and he wrote the forward. My excitement grew ready to explore what the book offered… It’s a huge task for me to summarize all the amazing things I values I gained from reading this book. From the beginning JP made me spark with full attention because we have so many similarities. After my wife read the first few chapters she made sure I received my copy as well because she too noticed our similarities. JP was a baseball player and I too grew up playing baseball as well into college. In addition, I too managed trading accounts.

Another strange similarity was also our crimes were very similar too the “fraud triangle”. One huge take away was not just for me to take full responsibility, but how to THRIVE while doing so. I also found huge value with the insight he provided about what to expect mentally and physically while being incarcerated. I appreciated that he shared his struggles and lessons he gathered from other inmates that he met. JP also took things even deeper by elaborating steps that can be taken philosophy, ethics, and moral codes to help transcend through the process. It was also a great reminder of how I can take time to introspect within to identify my short-comings and develop what is necessary to excell. Lastly, I felt Justin did a tremendous job articulating his perspective as a necessary guide through the system.

This book equipted me with the proper skills, wisdom, and knowledge that I can apply which will aide me throughout not only my journey ey with the justice systern, but life itself, well after my sentencing date. I have already began to apply the concepts and lessons to my situation. I am beyond grateful for this book and it aligns perfectly for my goals and aspirations.
