- Not the best day…It was my assigned laundry day, after waiting a year to exchange my laundry. I desperately needed new undergarments and socks, as mine have no heels in them, a new sheet, and also a new pillowcase and a new uniform, which I’ve still yet to receive (a new one) since arriving here three years ago. The laundry Sgt only had 4 or 5 things available. No socks, no uniforms, no sheets or pillow cases, no laundry bags, no t-shirts under size large, and no crocs. All I could exchange were undergarments, a towel, and a washcloth. What makes me angry is that when the state was just here recently doing their inspections, my friends who had their laundry days during that week got absolutely everything exchanged. They exchanged new bags, sheets, uniforms, pillowcases, socks, tee shirts, and crocs. But now that the inspections are over, there’s somehow hardly nothing for us. It makes it harder when, due to frequent laundry date cancellations, we have to wait an entire year for new clothes and undergarments with holes, tears, stains, and lacking waistbands. I left feeling defeated, degraded, and my needs unmet.
- Talking to my husband for just five minutes was the highlight of my day. -ICEV Nutrition class: Only got a couple lessons completed due to repeated re-counts.
- Mental health appointment with my therapist. She was proud of the headway I’ve made with boundaries, self image, and being productive.
