Although I decided I wasn’t going to play any sports today, I felt pretty good so around 5pm so I played 2 games of light pickleball and one set of light tennis.
Before I started my tennis match, I said I have to stop at 6:10pm in favor of my Judaic class.
We won our set 6-2 and ended around 6pm with plenty of time.
Little did I know that my Judaic studies teacher was sitting near the basketball courts watching me play tennis.
My teacher decided to walk over onto the tennis court (this was the 1st time he had ever been on a tennis court with me) and asked if I would hit with him. Of course I said yes, and we decided to play for another 55 minutes just one on one. Not competitive, more instructional and he was catching on quickly. One of the other players noticed how well he was hitting and being very consistent. I shared that he is my teacher for my Judaic class.
All in all, it felt so rewarding to play and help him as he has helped me in so many ways with my faith and trust in Hashem.
It is because of my teacher that I now find myself with my own Tefillin. Today, I put it on for the 2nd day in a row without his assistance or overlooking. I am again proud of myself not only for donning the Tefillin myself but for being the teacher to my new tennis student.
