I would like to talk about Carrie McPeak. she was my high school Spanish teacher and recently reached out to me from reading my bio on Prison Professors. she expressed the need to give me moral support and sends me books that help me get through the daily struggle of prison monotony as well as educational value. i thank her for this and i that Michael Santos for providing me the means to give me an outlet by writing to his website without which she could have never had the opportunity to find me in the system that so many of us get lost in. i have been locked up for twenty years so far and after losing my mother in 2010 have not received much by way of letters or anything else. although my family does stay in contact it is usually at my behest when i write them, other than that it is the age old story of out of sight out of mind.
recently the BOP changed policy regarding mail. all incoming mail is now copied and we can only receive 5 one sided pages on standard paper 8.5×11. they have failed to notify many families of this and for this reason her letters have been rejected so i hope that she reads this and complies so that her letter will finally get through to me. once more thank you Carrie and thank you all at Prison Professors for all you help and support.
