Today the Education Dept. at FCI-Aliceville turned up! All the tutors/clerks attended a refresher course for tutor training that reinforced different learning styles and did collaborative exercises. Then, the whole department – to include all the teachers – went to rec to interact with the AICs pursuing their GEDs or an ESL certificate. The gymnasium was full, not an empty seat in the house. Then we were also joined by both Associate Wardens and the Captain. They took the time to reinforce their support for the women pursuing their GEDs and the Education department itself. Many of the teachers were giving shouts of encouragement and support from their students. It was great to see everyone show up and show out!
