Housing:
- Describe housing situation: I currently live at 305 W Fayette Ave Unit 805 in Baltimore since September of 2024. This place is located in the harbor or what is considered downtown Baltimore. This is a safe, low-crime, community that I am happy to call home. I also collectively believe that this atmosphere is not only a secure way to build a future together, but also a positive environment in which I can earn a living upon release. The apartment is under her name, which further allows me to always know I have a place to be safe, healthy, and hopefully prosper.
- Who will live in the house: I am the only person who lives in my place currently as I recently separated from my life partner.
- Confirm that you’ve installed a landline: I will have a landline installed at this apartment via my internet provider, or the place. I understand the importance of keeping it active because I realize the future requirement of complying with such measures upon my release.
- Confirm that the house is in a low-crime area: As stated above, I live within a community in Baltimore Maryland, which is considered among the safest areas in the city based on recent research of FBI crime data.
- How will you meet household expenses? I am currently working for a non-for-profit organization that supports returning citizens. I’ve spoken with my current employer that if this role isn’t available, he would be open to creating a new one for me. I also work full-time at Johns Hopkins hospital and my boss is aware of my possible incarceration and is willing to give my job back, as they have other justice impacted individuals and my crime isn’t connected or has anything to do with elder or patient abuse, drug usage or distribution. Close to release, I will have a job with either or both secured. How will living in the house contribute to your successful reentry? Not only is this a safe and promising place to call home, but it also is an extremely low-crime area. With that said, my mentality will also play a vital role in this safe environment. In other words, I see it as a place of rebirth, and a way to be perfectly placed to avoid any complications with law enforcement for any reason whatsoever. Wishing to begin my employment aspirations when I am released, I hope to reassure probation officers that my plans are already set in motion to work remotely from my home or travel safely to and from a job site.
- How can unit team and RRM have assurance that you’re welcome to live there? I am currently making plans to save enough money based on my projected time from the US Attorney so that my rent can still be paid so that I am able to return. However, my boss at the non-for-profit runs a reentry home and has offered space there as well. You can reach out to Dr. Stanley Andrisse to ask and he will confirm that is an option as well. My boss has been amazing and supportive from giving me a part-time role to now a full time role.
Medical/Mental Health/Dental:
- What plan do you have in place to cover medical needs? My friend Eugene, will add me to his insurance. has Anthem Blue Cross and will add me to his insurance plan. Insurance [will send a copy of card/keep own copy for package].
Substance Abuse Counseling / Treatment:
- If you participated in RDAP, describe how you anticipate participation with the aftercare component: I have extensively researched the Residential Drug Abuse Programs available in the BOP, and plan to not only earn time credits through these courses—but perhaps more importantly—continue to grow toward a more confident state of sobriety. Beginning mainly in the early 2000’s, I developed a quite severe Alcohol addiction. Since losing my job in December 2023, I have worked tirelessly mentally, physically, and spiritually to overcome my obsession with Alcohol. To me, the RDAP program isn’t simply an opportunity, it’s essential to my Release Plan and overall success to continue to identify triggers and put solutions in place to ensure that I do not relapse but more importantly can make sound decisions. In addition, it should be noted that I am already currently involved with therapy to address my addiction and trauma. I am also involved in a substance abuse program through Zoom, all the while communicating with my sponsors. I have officially been a member of AA since January 2025 and will enthusiastically continue to attend their helpful services.
Family Situation:
- Describe your family situation, including:
- Do you have custody or visitation established with children? I currently have no children, though I do have aspirations of one day adopting. Prior to my criminal behavior and Alcohol complications, I was in pursuit of great efforts to increase our options. Nevertheless, as of now, it’s just me. My family, both siblings and extended family are aware of my current situation and have been so supportive that they opened a bank account and added money to it now in preparation for incarceration should it happen. They also call regularly to check on me and make sure that I am navigating this very difficult time in my life and have provided unwavering support.
- Is family counseling necessary? I am currently in therapy, however, I’ve never explored family counseling and while at this moment I don’t think it’s necessary, I am certainly open to the idea and attending therapy with them at another time.
- How have family responded to the sentence? Presently, my family is very supportive of seeing my progress with sobriety and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. They have responded with great hope and encouragement after hearing my aspirations to give back to society upon my release. Though it goes without question that initially, I felt the great weight of letting them down, both in my history of solid character, and my reputation as an educator and role model. As my dedication toward redemption grew, however, so did their support and love.
Education:
- Describe your educational credentials: I am a High School graduate from Elston High School in Michigan City Indiana. I was a first generation college student and attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta Ga and graduated with a bachelors in Secondary Education and Spanish. I went on to earn a masters in school supervision from Governors State University in Richton Park, Illinois in 2008 and eventually a doctorate degree in school supervision and leadership from National Louis University, in Chicago, Illinois in 2019. As a result, I earned Superintendent Certification. My plan is to finally pursue a Masters as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner and I am taking the prerequisites that are for both pathways. I have a three year goal to ensure this happens please see my IDP attached.

Job skills and training you need: My ultimate goal is to continue to support people in underserved communities. I’ve long had a passion for the medical field. My long term goal is to become a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner but the short team skills and training that I need is in direct patient care, as many PA schools require it for admissions. Those can include CNA, Medical Assistant, Dental Assistant, EMT etc. On April 24, 2023, I began five-week classes and was certified as a CNA and will hopefully take the exam and begin working in healthcare by June 15th. I currently attend Community Colleges of Baltimore County (CCBC) where I am taking science prerequisites to be eligible for PA programs or Nursing which is the first step to NP. Additionally, I want to strengthen my research and writing skills and publish peer reviewed articles on various topics in education from professional development, teacher development that have been instrumental in my overall success as a school leader. Over the last several years—particularly since my legal troubles—I have hoped to obtain more adept and enhanced writing skills to further my passions, which in many ways have evolved since my crime.
Job placement status: Since October 2024, I have worked Howard University and for From Prisons to PHD Inc as Grants/Fiance Manager. I also work at Johns Hopkins as a CNA to earn the direct patient care hours I need for PA school.
- Special skills you’ve developed or have: Aside from my above areas and experiences of expertise, I have used my experiences during the last several months of mentoring justice impacted individuals with creating an Individual plan to earn a certificate, associates degree or bachelor’s degree, in order to reduce recidivism, at P2P the organization that I work for. I’ve also volunteered by teaching at MCIW to teach young women. Additionally, I hope to continue to work on my scholarly writing and research skills to publish articles and journals for publication for teachers and administrators to address teacher preparation to meet the challenging demands of working with students who have been exposed to trauma and find success in school.
Financial Obligations:
- Detail your financial status: My current financial status is secure under these circumstances. I am a career-oriented person and am saving not just for things I may need during incarceration but post as well. My family is setting funds aside for me as well that I can use for my personal needs. While I begin this journey to use my talents in what I feel is the right direction, my friend Eugene also has agreed to help pay my expenses through his income, by being a solidified employee with his organization and also full-time faculty at a University. He will support me as I embark on securing employment and attending the University where he works to begin my journey to become a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
- Detail your contribution to financial responsibility: Above, you will see the modest yet hard-working jobs I have been applying myself to recently. Though my main focus is embracing the moral obligation to the restitution that rests in front of me, which is the amount of $1million dollars. I’ve already set aside $150,000 to apply to restitution. Not only through FRP while incarcerated, I believe I can—in the humblest of terms—repay this restitution with dignity; perhaps sooner than I had initially anticipated.
Books that I will read:
- I have created a reading list I have provided to my Eugene that he will order for me off Amazon. My goal is to utilize my time effectively to not only read the books but write book reports. This will allow me to learn new skills that I will incorporate into my daily life as well as my work upon my release. These Books will relate to my risk assessment survey

- : Post release Support System:
- Describe services you can access for support, if appropriate: I believe in expanding my support network as my journey progresses, but two individuals, in particular, will be the core of this network. They include my Eugene Pringle Jr, and close friends Matthew Jackson, Cedric Whitfield, Darnell Williams and John Reed. and my Prison to PHD community.
Reentry Accountability Plan:
- Describe ways that you’ve introspected on risk factors:
- My self-defeating behavior that blocks my success includes: Addiction with alcoholism
- Isolation and No accountability
- People Pleasing
- My behavior goal to address my issue is: I plan to join an alcohol support group to continue with sobriety, for support and accountability with my addiction. Additionally continuing to be a mentor with the Prison to PHD organization, with help with isolation and accountability, I will continue to work with my therapist Dr. Darcy who has given me techniques to be recognize signs of depression and be vulnerable with my inner circle (Eugene, Cedric, John, Matthew, Nate, Tavin and Darnell) having weekly check-ins with them will ensure that I am able to share when I am struggling and to elicit their support right away.I ‘ve already begun to share the most intimate details of my life, my upbringing, my sexual abuse, alcholism and my HIV status very openly which all stemmed from shame and stigma that I no longer have. I plan to go become a Physician Assistant to help others with Infectious Disease and become an advocate and researcher. In addition to reading self-help books, I now am aware of my people’s pleasing behavior and signs that are being addressed through therapy. My therapist has given me tools to “Say No” and recognize when I am being taken advantage of and learning to wait before I commit to something or someone without first talking it over with a member of my inner circle to make sure I am upstanding.
- My action plan to meet the above goal is: My plan thus far is to continue to build from all the tools I have learned already [cited above], and to gain as much rehabilitation as I can through programs or even volunteering for tutoring in these areas. With these incremental steps, it is my hope to obtain an even higher level of discipline. I also currently have a post on a website that includes my blog [prisionersprofessortalent.org, in which I have already been documenting my acceptance of what has transpired, as well as my goals. I have ambitions to continue this, build from this platform, and use it as motivation for myself and others.
