Today is a good day. I will continue to write a journal entry. I know this is important and i have no excuse for not writing more. To answer the question posed today: The change i would like to see in the prison system is extending FSA to all inmates and increasing the time you can earn off your sentence. I know alot of guys who are not eligible for FSA but are still programing and doing their best to improve themselves regardless of their situation. There is hope in federal prison because of the ongoing efforts of criminal justice reform. I myself have been blessed to attend a free college program here in Vicorville FCI which is also counted toward FSA. The problem I see here is the two conflicting mindsets of “prison staff”. There are FSA programs offered but because of the anti-inmate mentality of prison, it is difficult to actually get something from these programs. I know things take time to change and I will do my best to continue documenting my journey.
