9/26/2024 Thursday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 90 degrees F, Started walking at 6:00 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:45 AM. Breakfast menu: cereal, cake, milk, sugar, apple and water (Cereal, torta, leche, ezucar, un manzana y agua).

  10. ACE Classes US History 1898 – 1931, 5-5:30 PM and Stock Options 6-6:30 PM.

The morning call out for food service workers at 5:00 AM. They were headed out to the Penitentiary by 5:30 AM. The morning started out dark, hazy, slight breeze and cool. The lower atmosphere was hazy and the air quality was moderate. The beautiful dawn sky was on display with the contrasting analogous colors peeking over the Sierras, crescent moon in mid sky against a dark blue sky. the autonomous vehicle company was testing the vehicles 24 hours per day. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The maintenance workers have planted several trees around the soccer field and are replacing a section of the PVC pipe. As the morning progressed. The dawn sky brightened and the analogous colors radiated out of the suns path: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue and blue sky. As the sun rise over the Sierras, the orange sphere illuminated the Sierras and turned the lower atmosphere around it reddish orange creating a picturesque scene. The squirrels appeared after breakfast and were scurrying around begging for food from the inmates. Completed 3 miles walk before breakfast. Headed to the Front Office at 6:50 AM. We were told to come back at 7:45 AM because of Medical movement of inmates. Went back to the front office at 7:50 AM. CO Cortez checked us into the Penitentiary at 8:00 AM. We went to the laundry room: cleaned laundry for sections: 5A, 6A, 6B, 1B, 1A and SHU: made 110 bedrolls: folded sheets and blankets: sorted out cleaned laundry, Delivered cleaned laundry to R & D. Completed all laundry at 10:30 AM. Went to cafeteria for lunch. Luncheon menu: chicken tacos, rice, beans, apples, cookies and water. Helped delivered Food Carts to sections: 3A, 3B, 2A and 2B. Went back to laundry: folded blankets, sheets and uniforms. Went to commissary to clean it up, swept and mopped floor. Went back to laundry: delivered cleaned laundry to sections: 6A, 6B and 5A. Left the penitentiary at 1:00 PM. Back to dormitory at 1:10 PM. Washed my laundry. Talked to Doris at 1:30 PM: Doris is well but she was with my probation officer, I will call her back later. Checked email from Doris at1:45 PM: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8875 steps, 16.8 inches step length and symmetry was 74%. Yesterday was the 246th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She will be in the backyard to: enjoy the weather, walk with her cast, let the dogs out and enjoy her persimmons trees and tomato plants. The GED test went very well for the students. They are planning another examination on Nov 4, 2024. Statistics class 2:00 – 3:00 PM. New inmate arrived at the camp at 2:30 PM and we processed him and assigned him to bunk # 59 U. Went to the sewing room to shorten and hem pants for SHU. Census count at 3:30 PM. Finished my laundry at 3:40 PM. Dinner was served at 3:45 PM. Dinner menu: chicken fried, rice, beans and water. Went back to sewing room to finish 4 dozens shorts for SHU. ACE Classes US History 1898 – 1933, 5-5:30 PM and Stock Options 6-6:30 PM. Talked to Doris at 6:30 PM: Doris is well and rested. She briefed me about the visit by my probation officer from San Francisco. He looked around the house and recommended that we install a land line and will help Doris get rid of my gun. He was very pleasant dealing with Doris. He asked Doris to call him if she has any questions or problems in the future. Census count at 7:10 PM. Census count at 8:10 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.

Today was a good day: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8875 steps, 16.5 inches step length and symmetry was 74%. Yesterday was the e246th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She had a very good visit with my probation officer from San Francisco. Walked three miles and stretched. Attended ACE Classes and Statistics class. Shortened and hemmed 4 dozens pants for SHU.
