Day 400, I started my sentence in Aug 2023. New to trouble and brand new to prison. What does a person that has never experience this environment do–Keep your head down & stay out of trouble is what I was told when I got here. So that’s what I’ve done. It’s easy for me but not so easy for other because the enviornment is so toxic; it’s hard to get away from behaviors that you tried to leave at home when they are all around you. Women prison is full of injustice, drama and bad behavior. I often remind myself it’s not my journey and to leave it alone. Not think about what other people are doing that’s their journey. Walk away, go to work and pray for strength.
