Biography Entry: Rebecca Renee Macneil

I’ve been working on my bio for some time and writing letters to sent to the federal defenders office for some time. Please add the following to my Bio

ON June 15, 2023 I plead guilty to Conspiracy Money Laundering and Conspiracy to Distribute an amount of Marjiuana. The charge was based on a total offense level of 21 and criminal history category 1, my guideline range was 37-47 months. The court sentenced me to 37 months and I’m currently housed at FCI Tallahassee, Tallahassee FL. I will be released from this facility on February 27, 2025 to a halfway house in Knoxville TN with a projected release date as of today 10-02-2025, but I’m eligible for FSA and get 15 days per month until my release date to the halfway house meaning that my projected release date will change each month.

Once I got here and began my sentence I started thinking about what I wanted to do when I got released to utilize my education and my past experience. I stared working towards my release by working full time in Education, programming as classes became available and placed on the waitlist for additional program as they became available. When working towards my goal to determine what I wanted to do when I got home, I reached out the the Re-Entry Coordinator after reading a Re-Entry news letter about Re-Entry Court and to discuss my options. After several discussions and my awareness that many people here are repeat offenders and are back due to additional charges or on probation violations, I began to question why?

I discovered an increase need for AIC’s and the lack of knowledge of know resources provided to the inmate to assist with them being successfully after prison. Often times ACI will return back to the same environment that brought them to make the choices and decision they made and have no other options. The system itself is step up to fail, making the recidivism rate higher. That’s when I found what I wanted to do to utilize my background. I want to further my career working with Re-Entry but especially Re-Entry Court to assist ACI in finding the information and resources they need to help them with successful Re-Entry into society and to remain out of prison.

I’ve very interested in working with a Re-Entry Program but especially Re- Entry Court upon my release next year but will need assistance with this task. I’m looking for additional resources or contacts to help with my plan for the future. I graduated in 2005 with a MS in Psychology. I’ve been employed with numerous mental health and substance abuse facilities and have the experience I feel will help where needed.
