Journal Entry

I realize that we are the authors our life and what people see us as, we have sole power in the view of us that they hold. If we are more honest with ourselves about who we are and who we need to be then we can create meaningful change in who we are. I will not be the person people want me to be but instead, I will be who I need to be for me only. That determination will allow freedom that is necessary to truly reach my potential and do the things necessary to have real success upon release. I have spent lots of time in life catering to the opinions of others and being who they think I should be. Whether it’s the type of husband, son, brother, or father I should be. I have to live throught the highest expectations of myself because we as people set higher standards for us than others do. I know that I judge me and success for me higher than others. I have to live my life the way it is meant for me to do as my higher power relates to my life as well. When I break the need to live for what others want and expect from me. I can truly have success. The work is being done on a daily and I will continue to work toward meaningful change and build success. My goals are to become financially literate and then to teach it to others. My next goal is to write a book which has begun already. I am writing business plans and learning new ways to enrich my life and others. Tutoring for the GED is leading me to help others in a way that is meaninful to me and them.
