My name is Miranda. I’m from a small town in Iowa. Before I came to prison I was married, I owned my own house, and I was a college graduate and working on being a triple major. I was majoring in Elementary Education, Human Services, and Psychology. I let drugs ruin my life when I got divorced from my high school sweetheart. I received a 15 year federal sentence. I currently don’t qualify for any sort of relief. No FSA or RDAP. But that doesn’t stop me from programming every chance I get. I have completed numerous programs not because they get me time off but because I really want to change. I want to learn the skills it takes to succeed in life so I never come back here. I am currently attending International Christian College and working on getting my AA in Christian Counseling. This will help me to achieve my future goal of becoming a counselor. I have surrenered to God so he can use me as a vessel to help and guide his people. My future goals are to finish my 3 Bachelors degrees when I return home because I do not have the option right now to finish in here. I am one year away from my degree in Human Services, 4 classes short from my degree in Educational Studies, and I have completed my coursework for my degree in Psychology. After I graduate as a triple major I want to get my Masters in counseling. Helping people and giving back to the community is very important to me. My goal is to show people that change is possible no matter how far down you fall.
