Moment of Power MOP# 7
Stop Crying, Move Forward
By Fleming James Ivory
“And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me,
speak to the children of Israel, that they go forward.”
Exodus 14:15
Moses and the children of Israel had just left the drudgery of Egypt. Pharaoh and his army were on their trails advancing with a purpose to either force them back in to treacherous slavery or kill them. Ironically, some of God s people, although knowing the hardships and the inevitable possibilities of death in a land that enslaved them, thought it would be better to go back instead of trusting the God who
1. Brought them out of Egypt.
2. Showed them great signs, wonders and miracles many times.
3. God had already showed proven to them he can and will give them power to overcome their enemies.
The Lord basically told Moses, “Stop crying, speak , motivate the children of Israel” in a way they will be inspired to move forward. Mind you, with the Egyptians moving closer behind them, with at least 600 chosen chariots and the Red Sea in front of them, they had a decision to make. to surrender to the vassalage of their past or believe God and hand have enough courage to face the challenges of now that will propel their possibilities to make it to their promised land.
Such manumission portrays a common arret all humans are confronted with at some time in their lives, to either take the familiar path of the past, with its bondages and sorrows. or to have enough faith to stop crying, speak a positive word of empowerment to yourself, if necessary that will cause you to move forward and cross the Red Seas of our lives. Interestingly, if there was no Red Sea in Moses’s life, we would not be talking about him today. Who knows how many people, religions and organizations have been inspired by the story of Moses and the children of Israel crossing the Red Sea. The miracle of the Red Sea became “a miracle”, because of a God who’s able to enable his people to move forward even when such huge obstacle stands in the way. In other words. “A life without challenges is a life without victories.” We need types of Red Seas in our lives so that we can see the power of God in our lives, when we dare have the courage and faith to move forward and leave the past where it belongs, in the past.
Therefore if any man be in Christ,he is a new creature; old things are past away behold; all things are become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17.
I am by no means saying that we will not have times in our lives that will make us cry. I have had my share of tears. I remember one time crying so hard that I had to pull my car over, dry my tears get myself together, before I can drive to my destination. Wow! What a lesson in that. you see, the tears and constant cogitation of why I was crying disabled me to move forward even inside of an automobile fueled and engine to move me. Tears stopped even the automobile, by stopping me. Your hurts, disappointments and even your Egypt of the past can not stop you when you daily put words of encouragements in to your life, I highly recommend reading the Bible and listening only to those who desire you to achieve your best. New is good. As a matter of fact, new is great! Our largest organ that covers the human body, the skin, Epithelium, becomes completely renewed within 365 days (a year), via numerous of skin cells dying daily and new ones restored. The past is necessary, We call it the past because humanity is designed to move forward, leaving things in the past, sometimes people. If people or things in our lives are not helping us to move forward or even stop us from doing so, they are the Egypt’s in our lives and can hinder us from making to our promised land.
So,
Stop Crying
Speak to yourselves positively
Move Forward.
