Journal Entry

This week is where I finish the last minute touches on Clean Slate in order to present it to the Warden. I have been pushing to persuade administrations to do laser tattoo removal for years, and here at Thomson, I finally found a warden that was willing to give it a try.

Clean Slate is a double entendre that will be used for the course. I used our last month long lock down to put together a four week curriculum that would serve as a prerequisite to the actual laser tattoo removal. Through this course the participants will dive into topics like Our Roles in society, Barriers that might hinder us from fulfilling those roles, influences in our lives, and rational vs. irrational thinking.

Being proactive in not only my own rehabilitation, but that of others as well has helped me to discover strengths that I never knew I had, as well as passions. I have a strong desire to continue to not just help develop programs but to facilitate them as well. I get a strong sense of fulfillment watching the men absorb the information that is passed on to them, whether it is me sharing my story at A&O, our facilitating one of the many classes that I do.

I thank the many men that came before me that inspired and pushed me. You have all been a blessing.
