Today was an interesting day. It was also a day of pondering. Today, as an Overdose Street Outreach Recovery Coach, I came across an individual who received help too late. It’s sad knowing people leave family, friends, children, and loved ones behind with so much pain and regret, wondering if they could have helped.
The drug epidemic in most cities is a real insurmountable challenge. Even when there are multiple agencies from law enforcement, community treatment centers, hospitals, and harm reduction, doing what they can to meet that need.
I am very grateful for the lessons and blessings I have been given and the relationships that represent the core of my recovery capital.
