Release Plan

To Whom It May Concern,

When I first began serving my term, I came across a quote that spoke to me. It has guided me and functioned as a foundation for my hope and progress as I continune this journey. I would like to share that quote with you.

"The valleys of our lives operate as lessons in the school of experience. They bring us to a place of new
insight and understanding. They can alter our perception of the world, our views of God, and lead us to
   change our behaviors."
            - Dr. Charles F. Stanley

None of us can escape the pressures of life. Most of us know what it feels like to be disappointed. We know the painfulness of embarrassment, the sting of rejection, and the sorrows of failure. There will always be times when our circumstances seem to become overwhelming. It is in these moments that we may make the wrong choice, say the wrong word, or ignore what we know we ought to do. And if we do not learn to change our response or behavior, we will never benefit from our valleys or grow as a result from them. The choice is ours, and the consequences that come belong to us, as well.

These prevailing thoughts, lessons learned from prison, have been the driving force behind the creation of my personal release plan. Crafted and influenced from my deepest valley and in response to circumstances I created with my behavior. I know that remorse alone cannot make amends for my crime but I remain committed to making this time productive, reconciling with society, and strengthening my relationships with my family. The means to remain accountable is this dynamic plan, which describes my self-directed path to prepare for the best possible outcome upon my release.

I hope you find this release plan helpful in guiding me back to my family and community as soon as possible.

Sincerly,
Jon DeTemple
