- 7:30am ICEV Nutrition class – six lessons done! Some of the lessons are very long. There’s an overwhelming amount of information from foodborne illnesses to table setting layout to small and large kitchen appliances to vitamins and minerals and everything in between. My hope is that by completing this class, I’ll be able to persuade Education to allow me to take the ICEV laptop classes I truly want.
- Started a book report on Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
- Passed out last minute push-ups to my dorm.
- Meeting with my classification officer.
- Senior Coordinator weekly meeting. We have 2 weeks left as Senior Coordinators before others will be selected.
- Went around the dorm asking for volunteers to be the next ten leaders. To my surprise, I was able to convince 8 ladies!
- My close friend is so, so sick. The medicine she’s on after her surgery makes her vomit. I helped her to the bathroom to be sick and held a damp cloth to her forehead. She didn’t want me to leave her, bless her heart. Poor thing.
- I’m grateful to the Educators providing me with a reentry book to help me create a better reentry plan than the one I made over a year ago. However, I got so frustrated from being stuck that I had to put it down. My probation paperwork states that it expects me to show that I’ll be diligently trying to find work, however a couple points down it states I’m prohibited from using the internet and other computer software until given permission, have been evaluated, a security plan is put in place, and a number of other inhibiting factors. As someone hungry and eager to jump full-force into work and my career – my calling – and be the best asset to society I can be, these restrictions are both debilitating and improbable.
- Called my husband, who consoled me not to stress or worry too much yet about how I will find a job. However, I know that although I trust God will lead me to an abundant future, I can’t leave everything to fate. In my position, planning and setting SMART goals is critical for success.
