This week was packed with a variety of projects, keeping the team and me on our toes, but it was another productive and satisfying week of work.
Monday kicked off early with a Longline Paint Restripe in Oro Valley, AZ. I met up with Gary, Sean, and Anthony, and we got straight to work. The task was fairly straightforward—focus on getting the lines crisp and clear for optimal visibility. We powered through it, and the results were exactly what we wanted. Afterward, we headed down to Nogales for the Western Ave Shortline Restripe, where Dillion, Oso, Matt, and Cole joined in. Despite the drive, we got the job done quickly and efficiently. It was a satisfying start to the week.
Tuesday followed a similar routine, with another Longline Paint Restripe in Oro Valley with Gary, Sean, and Anthony. After wrapping that up, we moved on to the Restripe Baptist Church Parking Lot in Tucson. Dillion, Oso, Matt, and Cole were on the crew again, and we worked well together, getting the lot looking sharp in no time. The rhythm of the day felt good, and everything ran smoothly.
Wednesday had a different feel, with Gary and Anthony off. The remaining team and I stayed busy with a Hub V Parking Garage Striping Epoxy Wheelstops and Signs project in Tucson. This one had a few extra details, like the epoxy wheelstops and signage, but Sean, Dillion, Oso, Matt, and Cole handled them like pros. Everything went smoothly, and we finished up with no issues. In the afternoon, Lucas and I headed out to Marana for the Longline Waterblasting project. It was a change of pace from our usual striping work, but the waterblasting made everything look fresh and clean, and the contrast was noticeable.
Thursday started with another Longline Paint Restripe in Oro Valley, this time with Gary, Sean, and Dillion. We got it done efficiently, then moved on to the Alvernon & 3rd Bike Blvd Improvements. This project included Preformed Thermo LOOKs and some green pavement markings. I always enjoy these types of projects that add a bit of creativity to the job. Afterward, we went to Marana to do the Stopbar on Continental Links, which involved Blackout Mountain Stone. It was a smaller but important task, and Oso, Matt, and Cole ensured it was done with precision.
On Friday, we wrapped up the week with another Longline Paint Restripe in Oro Valley. Gary, Sean, and Anthony were back with me, and we finished the job quickly. After that, we headed to Speedy Yard in Tucson, where the tasks were more maintenance-focused: hanging signs, running cable, sweeping, doing office touch-ups, organizing the shed, and cleaning up the trucks. It wasn’t the most exciting work, but it was necessary, and Dillion, Oso, Matt, and Cole helped get everything in top shape before the end of the day.
Looking back, this week was a solid mix of striping, maintenance, and special projects. Every day had its own set of challenges, but the team handled everything well, and we maintained a
strong focus on quality. It’s always good to end the week feeling productive, knowing that everything was done efficiently and up to standard.
Until next time,
Justin
