Journal Entry: Eduardo Luis Valdes-06/30/2024-Day 1019

Journal Entry

Visit day, I’m up early lending hair gel to another inmate who finally gets to see his wife for the first time in 6 months due to a restriction. He is super excited, and so am I that in a few hours I will be in the visiting room with my mom. I’m called over to the visiting room at 11:45am, and I see my mom in the distance, already buying me food from the vending machines, and luckily we were seated right in front of the machines for me to see what there is to eat.

My mom and I talked, and talked, and talked some more. We were able to stay until the officers closed visit at 2:30pm and I said my goodbyes and returned to my dorm and called my dad as I do each and every day for a simple check up and hello.

We do not realize how good we have it, even though we are imprisoned, those of us that are near our home, are able to spend a few hours a week with our families and I am overly grateful that I was brought to this location about 45 minutes from home and that my family and at times my friends, sacrifice their time to visit me every week.

Miami Marlins had a devastating loss today after being up 6-2. The game ended by the Phillies winning 7-6.

8:45pm, just got off the phone with my mom, everyone is doing good, my niece is over at the house with them for the last few days so they are super happy.

Time to drink my tea and head to my room to end the day.

Tomorrow is commissary, and another possibly adventurous day here at FCI Miami.
