“Look at the new thing I am going to do. It is already happening. Don’t you see it? I will make a road in the desert and rivers in the dry land.”

Isaiah 43:19 (NCV)
from the book “Jesus First for Men, 365 Devotions to Start Your Day”

I woke up this morning to read the above daily devotional based on the Bible verse, ‘Isaiah 43:19’. Being in prison I wake up many days thinking, how did I get here, or how am I still here, and where am I going? Then I read a verse like this one, which helps me understand that even though at times you feel alone, or lost, there will always be someone there for you, someone who is leading you on the right path where you think it is a dead end, and get you what you need even where you feel it would be impossible. I thank God each and every day for allowing me the opportunity to spend time with Him and get closer to Him, and when He feels I am ready, He will be the one to help guide me out of all my troubles.

Today was visit day here for my unit. I was able to get to the visiting room rather early to spend a few hours with my mom and grandmother. They bought me a sausage, egg, cheese, and bacon sub, some chips and a Sprite to drink from the vending machines. That was enough for me, since I am really trying to start my diet. Thank you “Mami” and “Mima” for the visit today, I am so grateful to have you in my life, and for being there for me, I am already counting the days/hours until you can come to the next visit. Currently, others that have visited me are my step-dad, sister, brother-in-law, and dad and several friends. Once they decide to allow pets, I am sure “Maggie” will come visit me too, LOL. I love my family, and I can’t wait to be home with them again. Now for the rest of the day, I will be attending the Spanish Christian service and possibly watch a movie in the dorm with others to end the evening.
