Journal Entry

11/2/2023 Thursday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 73 Degrees F. Started walking at 6:20 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:05 AM. Breakfast menu: Cereal, muffin, punch and an apple.

Plan for today:

  1. Stretch.
  2. Call Doris.
  3. Check email from Doris.
  4. Email daily diary for 11/1/2023.
  5. Walk 6 miles.
  6. Split Stretch.
  7. Quotations.
  8. ACE Class Personal Finance 6-6:30 PM.
  9. GED tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM.
  10. Commissary.

Completed first 4 miles in 52 minutes and 53 seconds. Got my commissary at 7:50 AM. Spent $78.25 at the commissary. Got a new pair of Under Armor shoes. Mrs. Hubbard (Education) gave me a notepad and a TI Instrument Manual for the calculator. She also informed me that she was adding me to the Education Department as an employee to tutor the inmates. Finished walking at 8:20 AM. Final 2 miles was completed in 23 minutes and 46 seconds. Stretched at the basketball court until 8:50 AM. The walk started out dark and cold, my only companion on the trail were the rabbits grazing in the field. The temperature was in the 40’s, but as the sun rise, the beautiful dawn sky was displayed with beautiful pastel colors. The sun rise was spectacular as usual. Lucky me, I get to enjoy the beautiful scenery every morning. My walking time for the first 4 miles averaged at 13 minutes minutes and 14 seconds per mile (milla) and 2 minutes 13 seconds per lap (vuelta). The final two miles were faster, inspired with the new under armor shoes and good news from Mrs. Hubbard. My average times were 11 minutes 53 seconds per mile or 1 minute 59 seconds per lap. Pretty decent time as I was sweating. Stretched at the basketball court in the sunlight and concluded with my split stretch. Felt good about the walk and stretches. Had some ships and nuts for snacks. Showered at 9:30 AM. Talked to Doris at 10:00 AM: Doris is well. I told her about the good news from Mrs. Hubbard offering me a job in the Education Department and I also got my new Under Armor shoes. She was eating her breakfast. She had not heard from Patches, Kein or Diana, just hope they are all well. The cleaners were coming to clean the house today. She told Francis if he wanted to participate in the cleaning, it would cost him $50 per month. She walked about 6363 steps yesterday. I told her to keep up the good work.
Lunch was served at 10:10 AM. Luncheon menu: Baked chicken, baked potatoes, green beans and an apple. Went to sewing room to do some sewing until 12:00 PM. Ged tutoring from 12:00 – 2:30 PM. Good and challenging math classes, the Algebra topics are getting tougher. Back to the unit at 3:00 PM. Dinner was served at 3:10 PM. Dinner menu: burritos, rice, beans and corn. ACE Class Financial Planning 6-6:30 PM. Read in the library from 4:30 – 7:00 PM. Census count at 7:30 PM. Census count at 8:30 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good Day: Doris is well and she walked yesterday. Mrs. Hubbard added me as an employee of the Education Department as a tutor. Got my Under Armor shoes. Walked 6 miles. Split Stretched. The Dogs are well.
