The morning started out dark, hazy, foggy, breezy and cold -37 degrees F. The lower atmosphere was hazy, fog was to the South of us and visibility was over 2 miles, the strong breeze made the temperature colder. The autonomous car company had their facility and flood lights turned on but no sign of them testing their vehicles. Rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. Breakfast was early and no wildlife appeared after breakfast, so the inmates left their food on the ground and on the basketball court. The dawn sky was on display with: band of red haze over the fog, analogous colors peeking over the Sierras: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue and blue sky, 1/2 moon in the mid sky at 12 o’clock and the dark blue sky. As the morning progressed, the thick fog rolled in and reduced the visibility to 200 feet. I walked the trails on the soccer and baseball fields. The birds appeared and feasted on the food left by the inmates. Completed walking 6 miles at 7:40 AM, in 1 hour 14 minutes and 10 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 22 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 4 seconds per lap. The sun was finally breaking through the fog. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga. The stretch and Yoga practice felt good after the cold foggy morning walk. Th sun finally broke through the fog and the weather started to clear. I was able to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Completed my Yoga practice with the corpse pose and visualized the beautiful dawn sky amid the fog and the fog rolling into camp. Opened my eyes to the blue sky and 1/2 moon in mid sky. Talked to Doris at 9:00 AM: Doris is well and rested. It was cold in Pinole when she opened the gate to let the dogs out. The dogs are staying in their dog house until the weather warms up. Price of eggs and grocery have gone up probably because of the bird flu. Unfortunately, GSW lost in a blood bath to the Celtics and they will play the Sacramento Kings tomorrow. She will work on her new design. I will be busy with tutoring and ACE Classes. Counselor Reyes informed me, we won’t have any new inmates until Thursday, when the bus will have some new inmates. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:30 AM. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: chicken breast sandwich, rice, beans, salad, apple and water. Went to sewing room: repaired pants for Frank. Cleaned the computer room. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 9066 steps, 17.4 inches step length and symmetry was 7.7%. Yesterday was the 352nd consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She liked the book report on Basic Cognition Skills. The weather in Pinole is cold. She will stay indoors to keep warm.
