Food service workers for USP call out at 4:00 AM. They were headed to USP at 4:30 PM. The morning started out dark, hazy, breezy and cold – 37 degrees F. The lower atmosphere was hazy and the breeze made the temperature colder. The autonomous car company had their facility and flood lights turned on but they were not testing their vehicles. Rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields while, Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. Breakfast was served early, no wildlife appeared after breakfast and the inmates discarded their food on the ground and on the basketball court. The beautiful dawn sky was on display: Band of red haze, analogous colors radiated out of the suns path: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue and dark blue sky. I walked the trails on the soccer and baseball fields. As the sun rise over the Sierras, the red sphere brightened the sky and changed colors as it ascended through the haze. The birds appeared around 7:15 AM and they feasted on the food left by the inmates. Completed walking 6 miles at 7:40 AM, in 1 hour 14 minutes and 25 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 25 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 5 seconds per lap. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga at the basketball court until 8:50 AM. Both the EBRR Classes were cancelled. The stretch and Yoga practice felt good after the cold morning walk. I was able to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Finished my Yoga practice with the corpse pose and visualized the beautiful dawn sky and spectacular sun rise. Opened my eyes to the blue sky and the 3/4 moon at 2 o’clock in mid sky. Talked to Doris at 9:00 AM: Doris is well and rested. The weather is cold in Pinole when she let the dogs out. I told her we had some campers who were working in the USP since 4:30 AM. I might have to work in the USP next week. I will have a busy day with tutoring and the ACE Class tonight. She went shopping and lunch with Kein yesterday. Diana asked if we could keep her step son’s German Shepard in our house, I told her absolutely not, as our fence is not high enough to contain the dog. Case manager informed me that we will have 2 new self surrender inmates today and assigned them to bunks # 30U and #60 U. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:30 AM. Checked email from Doris at 10:00 AM: Doris is well and rested. She walked 9651 steps, 15.2 inches step length and symmetry was 7.8%. Yesterday was the 348th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: fish sandwich, rice, beans, apple and water. Went to sewing room: brought some cleaned uniforms and blankets, fabricated clasp belts for David, Ruben and Ortuno. Went to warehouse to request inventory for new inmates. Happy delivered the merchandise to the sewing room. GED tutoring 12:00 – 3:00 PM. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Cheesy chicken, buns, carrots, rice and water. ACE Class American Oxytocin crisis 5:30-6:00 PM. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
